Sensei Josh Rabinowitz - Godan

 

Joshua Rabinowitz - Godan (5th degree black belt)

 

Joshua Raboniwitz started Judo in 1970 in theWashington DC area with Jimmy Takemori and got his black belt in 1975. He is currently a godan (5th degree black belt).

He has fought in local, national, Pan Am and World tournaments winning the 2004 World Masters in Austria.

Joshua is currently an instructor, USA Judo certified coach and member of the Colorado Judo League Promotion Board for black belt and above.

Josh is a 37 year veteran pilot of United Airlines, retired since 2004.

  

 Sensei Marcos Batan - Nidan

Marcos Batan - Sandan (3rd degree black belt)

 

Marcos Batan has a 29 year-long Judo career. He started practicing Judo in one of the most important centers of Judo in Brazil - the City of Santos.  He  spent most of his competitive career training under the orientation of Kikuo Arazaki, 7th degree  and one of the most respected masters in the country.

He competed at national level in Brazil for 16 years. In the pinnacle of his competitive career he won the 1995 86Kg South American College title in Itanhaem, Brazil. 

He has been a black belt since 1990 and he is currently a sandan (3rd degree black belt).

Marcos is a national referee and a national level coach certified by USA Judo.

He also holds a First-Aid, CPR and AED certification under the National Safety Council.

   

  

Sensei Rodney Preston - Nidan

Rodney Preston - Nidan (2nd degree black belt) 

Rodney began Judo at the age of fourteen, training mostly at Northglenn Judo Club in Denver.  He has been a black belt for over 20 years, competing in several National Championships and US Opens.  He's been teaching kids and adults since 1993. He is currently a nidan (2nd degree black belt).

 

Jordan Lanini - Ikkyu (brown belt) 

Jordan began his grappling career wrestling in junior high and high school in Iowa City, Iowa, home to the famed University of Iowa wrestling program.  As an adult he continued to compete athletically, racing Hawaiian outrigger canoes in Maui and Seattle.  He began judo in 2004 at the University of Washington Judo Club in Seattle and has trained in Fort Collins since 2005.  He competes at judo tournaments within the State of Colorado, and is currently preparing for his black belt exam and is an USA Judo state level certified coach. 


Professionally, Jordan is a licensed civil engineer and specializes in hydrologic modeling of river basins throughout the country.
