Two Fort Collins Judo Club's athletes won medals in the 2009 Brian Olson Winter Classic Judo Tournament, Saturday 12/05 in Bolder-CO.
Jessica Stricherz won the gold medal in the girls novice, 6 years-old, 65 lb after winning two matches by ippon.
Mark Means brought home the silver medal in the Senior 165 lb division.
Maximiliano Vallejos also competed in the event and finished 5th.
Thanks to their performance in the event, Jessica and Mark were featured on the Reader's Corner of the Fort Collins Coloradoan on 12/13/2009.

Jordan Lanini placed 3rd in two divisions of the Denver Classic: Senior heavyweight and Master 220 lb.

The event had a very good level counting with the participation of Olympians and world team members.

Nathan Dunn, Paul Black, Ivan Mikhailau, Eric Rerucha and Sean Coffman were on the Readers Corner of the Fort Collins Coloradoan. The article described their good participation in the Denver Buddhist Temple Judo Tournament.

With 5 athletes competing, Fort Collins won 5 medals in the Denver Buddhist Temple Judo Tournament. Ivan Mikhailau and Sean Coffman won the senior lightweight and middleweight divisions respectively.

Nathan Dunn finished second in the Junior Novice and Junior Developmental divisions.

Paul Black won a bronze medal in the senior heavyweight.

The team finished 4th out of 15.

The Fort Collins Judo Club is a registered member of the USA Judo and of the Colorado Judo League.

                 

To expand its activities and to offer practice year-round the CSU Judo Club is now operating as Fort Collins Judo Club.

 

In the heart of Old Town, the Fort Collins Judo Club teaches the traditional Judo following the teachings of Jigoro Kano.
